Every Tuesday, I\u2019ll teach you simple techniques that you can learn in under 10 minutes and implement immediately to improve your workflow.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span>You probably already know how to rotate things in Bluebeam, right? Well today I have three different methods for you, one you know and two you might not already know. So, please, stick with me and let\u2019s learn some cool stuff! <\/span><span class=\"has-small-font-size\">(Ok, perhaps I get a little over excited about Bluebeam features. I openly acknowledge this.)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"#obvious-method\">The Obvious Method<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#precise-method\">The Most Precise Method<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#secret_method\">The Super Secret Method<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"obvious-method\">The Obvious Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most likely you already know this one, but I\u2019ll cover it anyway real quick. Feel free to skip ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anytime you want to rotate a markup in 15\u00b0 increments, simply grab the little grippy and drag. And that was completely unhelpful. Please just watch the GIF instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"355\" height=\"286\" src=\"https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/21_rotate_obvious.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-519\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"precise-method\">The Most Precise Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve the most precise (accurate?) rotation in Bluebeam, to 1\/10<sup>th<\/sup> of a degree:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Select the markup you want to rotate<\/li><li>Click the Properties (gear) icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" class=\"wp-image-517\" style=\"width: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/properties_icon_light.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li><li>Scroll to the bottom of the properties window and type in the exact degrees you\u2019d like to rotate the markup<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"373\" height=\"812\" src=\"https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/21_rotate_properties.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/21_rotate_properties.png 373w, https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/21_rotate_properties-138x300.png 138w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 373px) 100vw, 373px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"secret_method\">The Super Secret Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the real reason you\u2019re here, isn\u2019t it? To learn the super secret tips no one else knows about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my opinion, this is the best and most underutilized method of rotating objects in Bluebeam. It allows you to rotate to 1\u00b0 increments* without needing to go into the markup properties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Hold <strong>SHIFT<\/strong> while using <a href=\"#obvious-method\">The Obvious Method<\/a> (ie while dragging the little rotation grippy thing)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"355\" height=\"286\" src=\"https:\/\/lizlarsen.me\/bluebeamblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/21_rotate_secret.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-520\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I know, mind blown \ud83e\udd2f, right?! Usually holding <strong>SHIFT<\/strong> snaps you to 45\u00b0 increments. But in this case, it actually does the opposite of what you\u2019d expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">*Technically, this method rotates to 0.1\u00b0 increments in the properties, but only shows you 1\u00b0 increments on the screen while rotating. It\u2019s tough, if not impossible, to rotate with 0.1\u00b0 precision using this method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes the normal method of rotating just doesn\u2019t cut it. You need those super precise angles for your \u00bc\u201d\/ft roof slope or you\u2019re trying to align something just so.
